Down the Shore With Jon Bon Jovi

I went to a beach house with Jon Bon Jovi and his family. I dont usually spend time with Jon's kids since it is usually socializing with Jon and Dorothea and sometimes Jon and his other buddies. Even though Jon lives by the water, his family likes to enjoy the ocean breeze from the Jersey shore. At times they like to go camping or using a motorhome/tour bus is not unusual for them. Jon is a pretty easy going, outdoorsy kind of guy and his wife is the same lifestyle partner. They both enjoy pretty much the same things. With years of wedding bliss, the couple have such a way with each other. I really enjoy seeing them and their tender ways. Jon and his wife remind me of Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban. Both couples enjoy such a romantic, appreciative lifestyle that they all glow together and as individuals. Nicole and Dorothea both have such sweet puppy dog personalities . I use the term puppy dog personality because puppies have a way of adoring others so deeply and they show so much heartfelt appreciation for the little things in life.

Back at the beach, Jon and I decided to go for a walk along the ocean to watch the waves. Dorothea decided to stay at home and enjoy reading. We had all had a busy day swimming and playing in the ocean. Dorothea likes to relax in the evening sometimes with a nice glass of red wine. While we were walking, Jon reached down and picked up a seashell. He handed it to me and said," With this seashell I promise to be a good friend for life." It was a bond of tradition. In his family, seashells are symbolic of love and the purity of the family. By giving me the seashell, he was saying I was part of his family. Jon has a way of making people feel close to him and that side is the fatherly aspect so apparent in everything he does on and off camera.

 We came upon a flock and began the futile attempts at chasing the birds. Jon Bon Jovi knows how much I like to chase seagulls. The birds didn't seem to mind as we both attempted to get closer to the nearest bird only to change directions as that one took flight and another one became the closet bird. They flew around us, but never gave Jon or I much thought. The seagulls weren't concerned by our playful exchanges. It was neat how much they let Jon and I interact with them. Tossing and turning in the air as the flock swirled around us. We were running back and forth and they were flying up and down. The whole thing must have been quite a sight. There were people on their balconies laughing as they watched us. Jon and I had so much fun playing. There are have been many occasions where both Jon and I or Jon or I have spent time in the company of such sea birds. It is always a fun experience.  He keeps a seagull in his office that reminds him of the fun times we and others have shared playing with birds.

Jon Bon Jovi Trivia Nights

Hanging out with Jon Bon Jovi and his buddies. Dorothea believes that a night  with the guys once and awhile is a good things. She has her own group of girl buddies that she likes to spend time with as well. Dorothea does tend to be a home body and Jon likes it that way. Jon is a little old fashioned he likes to know she is at home taking care of the house and waiting for him. She does keep a pretty active charity works and appearance schedule maybe that is why at night, Dorothea likes to relax, and hangout in her comfies. I am the same way most of the time.

Here is a little fun fact, Jon Bon Jovi and some of the band members use to go to the Playboy Parties. He was never there at night,but if he had some time and he was out in LA at the right time, Jon liked to go to the roller skating parties. Hef had roller skating parties into the early nineties and sometimes he would throw an occasional roller skating party for the fun of it. Jon started going to the Playboy Parties in early 1987. Sometimes, Dorothea would tag along but not as often as Jon would have liked. They are a lot of fun as a couple. Jon us to enjoy carrying Dorothea on his back- piggyback style. Hugh would laughingly joke about trading places with Dorothea on Jon's back. They are very popular with celebrities and people for both of them are excellent at having fun. Dorothea has the best sense of humor and her husband knows how to play off her lead. Hef liked them a lot. Jon brought his sons to a few Playboy Events. Playboy has some nice events for the children of celebrities and the bunnies like to entertain whole events like the farm animals at the Easter Events.

Now back to the story I was telling. Jon likes a bourbon and coke unless he is on a diet then he goes for a light beer or a gin and tonic. He watches what he eats and works out very regularly in order to keep up with the demands his stage performance requires. Jon likes to move and when he parties he gives dancing a top priority. Dorothea is a good dancer as well and she is always willing to allow Jon to draw her up in his arms for a quick spin on the dance floor. This particular evening as I mentioned, Dorothea decided to stay at home. Jon has such a great bar on his property that everyone likes to hang out there. it is like a mini conservative Playboy Mansion Sunday Bar Night. In fact, Hugh Hefner did stop by one night to check out Jon's bar on Jon's property, but Dorothea was not with Jon. Hugh had a couple of drinks and went back to his hotel. Guys doing guy things. I fit in because I enjoy hanging out with men since I am easily entertained with Sports talk or games. Kendra Wilkinson has the same rapport with men that I do. Jon keeps a nice selection of scotch at his bar. They have popcorn which Jon knows is a favorite of mine and a pizza in the oven is often the other snack on offer. Jon likes 70's music. It's Disco night whenever the mood hits him. He does a great John Travolta dance impression and he throws in the accent to tie into John Travolta's Saturday Night Fever character. It is really funny to watch two legends in one as Jon makes the Saturday Fever mood catch on. Jon has a good friend named Tom who usually starts the party going. Tom gets people going by bringing people into a game, or a dance or other activity. Tom is a trivia minded person and he always is on the winning team for Trivial Pursuit or other games. Red shirts are Tom's favorite" lucky" shirts and he always has a big smile to share. They have been friends for years.

 Jon has a Jeopardy computer game that brings down the house at times. What makes it funny is how involved everyone gets in the game. The music to Jeopardy sometimes becomes a drinking game but Jon doesn't always play along. He is not a big drinker, but more a social one. The trivia games leads to some really off the wall responses. I dont recall exact responses to questions but I recall all the laughter at the guesses.

Jon's property is stunning. We share a love for water. The house is perfect for people who are what are called water babies or those who find joy in the water. I heard its for sale along with all the history and beauty held within its halls.

Fun in the Snow with Brad Pitt

Brad Pitt is one of the most creative people who always has the latest joke to share. His acting and spiritual gifts have drawn people to him all his life. He is a structural minded person with schooling to support his interests in architecture, design and fine arts. What people dont realize is building a great snowman takes a lot of structural know how. I dont have the requirements to truly build a enormous snowman. I can build a great snow bunny, snow furniture complete with snow tv, and other random items in the use of snow. That evening, Brad and I decided to go with something conservative so we started with a simple snowman with a knitted cap. Where the snow art began was not where it ended up. The first snow design of the traditional snowman was perfectly rounded with each ball situated exactly on top in the direct center. It looked as picture perfect as any snowman on any Holiday card. We both enjoyed the rolling and completing the product was so much fun. In my many years of building snowmen of all shapes and sizes as well as colors, I could not replicate the roundness that Brad could achieve. He has an engineering mind even though he does not realize it, but the engineer in him comes out in subtle ways like the round snowman.

 Brad gets caught up in having fun that he looses track of time. As I mentioned before when you are so happily engaged in something you enjoy, you loose track of time. The state of mind where you happily forget everything around you but what you are working on is achieving in simple terms the flow state of being. Brad gets into the flow often. His happy go lucky nature and his imp streak make him a lot of fun.

The most famous snowman that makes everyone smile 

We got into all kinds of fun with the snow that day. Things got very creative as a game of Snow Pictionary developed. We each began to mold the snow into different shapes while we stopped to ask the other person if they could guess what was being created. Nothing we created was very big at that point. Many of them looked a lot like alien life forms.  The most successful snow creation that I crafted  that day was a snow leopard. Trying to create a snow leopard was a difficult mission but I accomplished the task. Brad guessed what it was pretty quickly and that surprised me. His bulldozer snow creation was the best. We were speed molding in as the game went along. Once the item was correctly guessed a new design would begin. Guesser became creator and vice versa. He and I were cracking up so much at the guesses and the masterpieces that tears of laughter broke out. Even though it was not part of the game, the llama we created together was outrageous of all. The llama had the biggest backside that it almost fell over, but we fell over instead laughing. References to the classic movie Ghost began as we both made comments. It crossed my mind that Jon Bon Jovi would have started some snow fight since Jon always loves a good snow battle.

Once the game had ended, sledding was our next activity. We used a couple of sleds he had in his car. The sleds were the circular style. I was surprised at how much speed we could pick up since the incline was not that steep. Our game of tag was a slippery engagement. I would like to say I kissed him the first time that night but I had already kissed in many times in the past. He is always a great kisser and I am sure Gwyneth Paltrow would agree with me:)  The night went so quickly, most good evenings do.

David Spade and I Double Dating with Mr & Mrs Jon Bon Jovi

The night came together by accident. I had already scheduled a date with David Spade to attend a private party when I got a phone call. It was Jon Bon Jovi. He wanted to know what David and I were doing that evening. Jon was scheduling a little get together. I knew it was be a little crunched for time but Jon is always so much fun. It was too hard to resist. David and I agreed that we would stop by and hang out with his group but first we had the early party to go to.

Jon had planned some light appetizers and a small bar party. As I mentioned it was a small group get together. Jon was practicing for a new album at the time and he wanted to give his friends a preview. Impromptu jam session at Jon's house are always fantastic. It is just like a concert since he has so much talent as a musician that he can sing anything at anytime without any backup. I have often thought that Jon Bon Jovi and one of my relatives should sing together. She is one of the most gifted singers I have ever heard. Several of my family members have years of musical training, lead roles in one act plays and have experience in many stage performances. One act plays are slightly small rooms almost like a dinner theatre environment that leaves you up-close with the entire audience. They love the stage and the stage loves them. I seem to have gone off on a tangent, but that is my style.
Back to that evening, it turns out that we were the only couple who could make Jon's impromptu jam session on such short notice but he did not mind. Jon is always a great host. Jon had some shrimp, crab rolls, other Italian snacks as well as some cheese and crackers. He knows how much love white wines. At the time, I was into a drink with Chambord in it. Jon had that bottle too close to the front of the table. It was in arms reach and that was too tempting for me. I knew David was handling the transportation so I allowed myself to enjoy the drink and Dorothea seemed to have acquired the taste as well. I noticed she had a few glasses. It was a fun evening.

Jon knows I always tease him about dying his hair grey. 

Dorothea gave me some kind of makeover that evening because I know how much lipstick I had on that evening and what the color was, but when I left my look including my lipstick was different. Dorothea is a makeup wiz. She could be a cosmetologist or a stylist. she has a lot of talent. 80's hair is not as easy as it looks. Dorothea did Jon's hair on more than one occasion. She knows how to rock any make up color palette which amazes me. That is the artist at work and she works fast.

We decided to watch a movie since Jon was a little more intoxicated than he thought. His intoxication was part of the fun and Jon was not the only having a good time. Jon is one of best mature comedians. He and David Spade get along so well. David has a wild side that everybody knows about, but what they don't know about is that Jon's humor is very similar to David's humor. I know Jon Bon Jovi always seems so soft spoken but at the time he was wild as they say. When David and Jon are together everyone is happier. It is the energy they bring. Jon's nickname the "Bermuda Triangle" came about because of the wildest discussions we have had as a group and how funny they were to others. Several people who have heard Jon mention the Bermuda Triangle more than likely did not get the reference since the place is sinister. The name was given to us after a mutual friend watched us play around. It made him think of holidays in the Caribbean and the joy of unexpected humorous events. It was also a reference to the Trinity and how much we all love God and the fact that we all can be a little devils when we want to be. Everyone has a little devil in them that makes them do funny things that are funny and out of the ordinary. the little devil is when you hide a towel on your husband or you give funny gifts.  I can't go into too much details or the blog would be really long, but I will catch my readers up in the future. The person who gave us the nickname has since passed away but the way he use to smile every time he mentioned that nickname was really special.

The evening ended with a hug and a kiss from Dorothea. She is such a loving lady and her Italian background is a part of her greetings. Although it might just be a Jersey thing since I know several families including my own who hug and kiss as a greeting.

On a side note,
Tom Cruise makes the best Fairy Godfather because he loves to make wishes come true. You never know when he is going to surprise you and most often he doesn't take credit. He lets the person figure out it was him. Being a little sneaky in a good way is as much fun for Tom as it is for the person whom he is granting wishes. He is part Secret Santa by nature only when he is ready, he lets it slip.

David Spade is always throwing himself at Tom Cruise in a light hearted way but I know he secretly wants to work with Tom . Becoming Tom's best buddy is an option David has mentioned he would like to explore. I think it is like a heterosexual man crush situation for David. You know where the guy thinks the other guy is cool that kind of thing. David loves it when he sees Tom coming since it means David will get a chance to set Tom up. Tom doesn't get the message that David is serious and he really wants to become Tom's best friend in the whole wide world as David says to Tom and then he bats his eyes at Tom. David is so good at Puss and Boots style eyes that he uses on Tom to tease him. It is really funny to see. 

Here is a little surprise from Kate Hudson.. Look at one of my favorite designers came up with.. I wonder if she had the pants color matched to my house and my living room wall. We all know how much I love roses. I like your style Kate. I was told this outfit is a new release and it will be on the US website soon. If you put in Zulie on the US site you will see the pants.

Tom Cruise's Secret Sci Fi Movie

Tom Cruise's mind is always thinking about his next movie or movie concepts that he would like to explore. I have heard him talk about a film on a sci fi subject that involved an invasion of aliens who came down with the purpose to assimilation through a virus. It is not like the Body Snatchers movie in the infection is not the end result. The end is the final arrival of a new species. I do not recall the exact details since it has been revealed to me in parts but the concept and the way he portrays it sounds like a unique angle on this theme. We have reenacted some of the parts together as he tried certain realities out. It is easy to see that his mind is very focused when he gets caught up in the movie discussion. It excites him. Tom has been writing this film for a few years now and I am not aware of others outside of his circle knowing of any of the details. This film idea is a labor of love for him. Taking his time on his Sci Fi film as he works out the fine details of the story has been a source of pride for him. I like what I have seen of the movie. I know when he gets it to paper and then on to the big scree it will be a huge hit. I am revealing some of it with Tom's permission. Much of what he shared with me has only been shared between us.

Tom likes to act out certain roles. He is very good at the hero role since he is a naturally heroic and strong type of man. He is an old fashioned gentleman at heart with a playful adventurous side that comes out all the time. When I am with Tom, he gives me so much kindness and attention.
His ability to reach out and bring audiences in has always been an aspect of his personality. No matter how small the audience is, he still grabs you up in a good way because he has enthusiasm that is intoxicating and liberating. When Tom is on a creative roll, the details flow from him and it takes on a life of its own. It is surreal how he is able to convey a story and bring it to life. That is his acting skills kicking in. I am able to mention the film because I know he is going to start to bring the film forward. I am thrilled that he is so close to delivering the film's message and having the story he wants. His movie deal is close. I have no idea when it will be announced nor what the title is currently. Just like most talented artists, there is an aspect of him that is always living, dreaming and breathing his next creation. I have played out the heroine or his sidekick as Tom played the reporter investigating certain betrayals or odd behaviors on a mass scale that the lead role was observing. Who was real and who was infected became a test of the mind. It leaves the audience interpreting and that engagement is very exciting in a suspense film. Using some kind of laser gun was one part of the detection process. We both enjoyed playfully sparring as we acted out different roles. We both known non dangerous sparring equipment. The plastic swords, Nerf guns and other battle equipment sparring equipment is used by different guests in my home to act out certain scenes like by some of the theater students who takeover my basement and fill it with music and other fun. When he liked the way the scene came out, Tom would say write that down. I think he was joking with me when he would say write that down. Tom knows my handwriting, especially when I do it quickly, sometimes it leaves people including myself scratching their hands. The fact that I was taught a formal calligraphy writing style using pen and ink in school for penmanship. Not many people can say they were taught such formal writing and yet print in almost unrecognizable letters.
Tom's love for Katie Holmes is still a part of him . I would not be surprised if the two of them work together on a film at some point in the future. You just never can tell :) Good friendships are always important. Katie is one of the best friends any person can have. Katie future has always been in her own hands. She is one of the strongest women and that is part of her sexiness. I have always admired Katie for her beauty and compassionate heart. She is always amazing. Tom and I both agree on that.

On a side note,
Tom's advice on a rowing machine was a huge hit. I am enjoying the machine so much along with the rest of my family. Because I am rowing, I am not injuring my knees like the threat of constant running over years creates I recently read that constant runner Jenny McCarthy stopped running for reasons related to knees. An ounce of prevention is good. I do still run but not as often. It is good to vary your workout. Jon Bon Jovi told me his running days are not as long as they once were. Just like me it is hard to stop when the runner's bug is in you. Jon's wife recently had yellow stripes in her hair of temporary washout coloring. Let me say Dorothea looked great in them. They stripes matched Brad Pitt's bright yellow motorcycle gloves but that is another story :) Jon and Dorothea run a food pantry and a little known fact is my mother runs her local food pantry. Common goals to feed the poor is a shared value and a community interest that all would enjoy. I have helped in  my Mom's food pantry and enjoyed it very much.

On a Side Note - Leonardo Di Caprio, Brad Pitt and Jon Bon Jovi

On a side note,

Leo DiCaprio heard about my recent blog where I  referred to him as an indirect acquaintance. Since then , he made sure we spoke to each other even though it was not in person. By saying to me" It's nice to meet you and now you can say we have met." Leo removed himself from the outer circle of my blog right into it. I hope the friendship continues to grow since our families have a history together of a strong bond and that is the way he wants it to stay. As he said the gift that was given to my Grandmother is a gift given to family. It represents a link throughout the generations that lasts. Leo Di Caprio is a very loyal person  and good hearted. Some day I will share some of the stories that his great uncle Ben shared with me about young Leo. Leo would stay with Ben from time to time and Ben got a kick out of Leo in many ways. He was very fond of his great nephew. I could tell that Leo was special to him by the way Ben would smile as he discussed young Leo.

When I spoke to Brad Pitt, he reminded me about my heavy bag. Brad always brings his fists up and pretends to move around like a boxer or he mentions my pink gloves. He likes to know that I am practicing my boxing moves since we both feel boxing like certain martial arts are great for the strengthening the spirit. Boxing releases so much of the fight or flight energy that we call stress. Even a relaxed person can benefit substantially from a boxing workout. It is a balance between my gentle Yoga practice. I will have to write about it more in my makeup and fitness tips blog. Now that I think about it since Brad started doing the playful boxing at me, Matthew Morrison joined in the fun and started doing the same thing.

Jon Bon Jovi always says anytime I want to write about him, I am welcome to do it. He is such a sweet guy and a great friend to so many not just Jersey girls after all he has the best Jersey girl of all time Dorothea ;) A little more about Jon Bon Jovi and summer fun with him and Dorothea in an upcoming blog. Jon is one of the funniest people and writing about him always makes me smile.

On a side note will be part of a series where I update one of my latest blogs with feedback or additional comments made by the celebrities involved in my writings.  

This summer also brought a new little freckle that made me and others smile. I have had freckles all my life. I now have a heart shaped freckle on my right thumb.That is my pool towel beneath my hand. It was another swimming day :)I need to take a picture of my pointed ear in one of my blogs. It looks like a fairy ear-lol #whatafunnyworld
