An Outing with Brad Pitt

I recall the time when Brad Pitt and I went shopping together. It wasn't a suppose to be a quick trip. We had planned to spend some time window shopping and enjoying the stroll together. My husband and I like to do the same thing. We can go on a adventure simply by checking out what is new at our local shops or investing time to find a good deal. We shop in a leisurely way just like Brad and I do. It's sometimes fun to get into antics and try on silly things or just to buy obscure items that make us laugh. The fact we are not looking for anything but just shopping to see what we find and what we can experience makes the trip an adventure. Brad is always a big fan of hats and masks. I cant resist a hat that makes a statement or consists of a funny shape or color. Either sex hats can be so much fun to admire. Popping them on each other's head and laughing as we assumed characters by changing our expressions to suit the hats kept Brad and I entertained on several shopping trips. Little Boutiques respect Brad's privacy so he can shop as he likes without any fuss. Brad is a very courteous person that is because he was raised to respect others. His strong character and happy go lucky spirit makes him so much fun to be with. Brad is very observant which is one of the sweetest aspects of his personality.

A fun photo of me wearing my pool hat.

While in the shops, I found so many pink items that I had a great time. We went in the toy store to check out the variety of toys. Toys are fun to look at and to admire a vast collection of unique one of kind toys is a pleasure. My father made toys when I was young for toy manufacturers. I learned about obscure toys, their design and sometimes even the history. Going in unique toy stores was like being in a Museum. If they had masks to look at, then the fun factor doubled. This time we did not play with any masks. Brad and I just played with some of the displays as the shop had certain toys for interacting. Matthew Morrison likes a good toy store and Kim Kardashian is a toy expert.

On this trip we found some bubble gum that was in a funny container. I dont recall what it tasted like it was awhile ago. I just recall the fun we had with it. The gum had a joke on it. I never saw the gum again so it might have been a local item or something obscure. Brad and I ate at one of the nice Bistros that we came upon in the shopping area. It wasn't a chain place. We laughed and enjoyed a couple of glasses. The wine was fantastic. Conversation drifted from topic to topic. We were sitting next to each other in a booth. He had his hand on my knee. The comfort and intimacy between us was obvious.

I met a funny realtor in the bathroom who later approached our table. She gave me her card and tried to sell us vacation property. Knowing full well I had no intention of buying any, I think it was just a way to strike up a conversation. Brad laughed when she left teasing me about bringing people over to the table. We both enjoyed the brief visit by our new friend.

Nicole Kidman's Beach House

A few years back Nicole had offered to let me stay with her at a beach house in Southern California. He had rented the place and asked to come and join her. Who could resist an invite  from one of the most amazing people I have ever met. Nicole has a way of making every adventure fun. She so much personality and fun loving totally fits her. We both have the same kind of enthusiasm. Most people refer to it as the bubbles in champagne. It is hard to ignore how enthusiastic people make the day seem bright. The giggling and the hooting like cheerleaders cheering on our favorite teams. Those teams are not just occasional sports teams but they are the families, friends and animals we have. In short the teams are the people we find around us. Even if they are only in our lives for a short period of time accidental enthusiasm comes in the form of praises we both give to those people we connect with on a short term basis. Seeing the world as good and full of potential is the best way to live. When you see it as full of potential, it is common to express gratitude towards others for their contribution to this world may be more than what it seem. In other words, see everybody as special.

On the first day Nicole Kidman and I were together, we spent the say on the beach. The beach was her backyard. It was nice to be able to come and go back and forth to and from the house as we wanted. Of course, she made some yummy margaritas. We both had a thirst for those fun drinks. Margaritas are a wonderful part of summer. In the frig was some cut up fruit and some cheese in storage container. Those snacks hit the spot. I know she eats a lot of fruits and veggies but cheese is her weakness. I must say a good cheese is very pleasurable. Brie is a favorite of my children. I was into cupcakes and Nicole knew that, but she always pay attention to her guests and what they say. Nicole is a great listener as well as a great storyteller. There were some cupcakes in the frig. The house was immaculate. The house's post modern art gave it a flashy but relaxed style and the view from the balcony was amazing. I am not sure who the home's owner was, but whoever it was they had great taste in composition and design. I loved the feeling inside. Nicole knows almost every state, where to stay and who to contact to find a perfect location. The West Coast does not have the warm water that Hawaii does on a year round basis. I love both locations for their own uniqueness.

Nicole Kidman likes to play with funny straws. She will often buy some wild looking straws. Loop to loop and character straws in all shapes, sizes and colors even ones that glow in the dark. Funny, funky straws are a specialty of any of Nicole's drinks. She does not get enough credit for her wild straw collecting like the Golden Globe straw that blew me over. I am not sure how or where Nicole found them but they are shaped like Golden Globes. The drink goes around the globe to the top. You really have to suck hard on the straws, but no one ever complains. It's fun watching the drink approach.  She is without a doubt a #strawmaster
The always playful Nicole Kidman. We both love to whip out
something from left field to surprise people. It's part of the fun.

When went swimming daily. Throughout the day, we would take plunges into the water. It was so much fun. Nicole looked stunning in her red bikini with a black hat and red scarf. I wore a baby blue one with polka dots. The water was cool but refreshing.  Disco dancing until the wee hours of the morning with and without an audience or group is always on the agenda. Nicole and I have spent years dancing and in formal training. Our toe shoes date back to before we were teenagers.

Nicole is a very good storyteller. Through listening to her, I have been to many places that she has been and seen them through her eyes. Society has had storytellers throughout the ages and its a part of culture going back to Ancient Greeks and beyond. Part of what makes people happy about being with her, is how freely she shares the most unique stories. Hearing her happiness as she recounts them is contagious. After all these are psychologically documented human traits to experience joy by sharing your good adventures and the same joy in hearing the good experiences of others. Nicole shares those memories knowing in doing that she is making others happy. Studies on the positive influence that recounting your memories with others of special times or places you have been can be found online by using search engines. I experienced this training in some of my classes over the years. It is a positive way to spread love that costs nothing. I see her as a visionary in the positive psychology movement. The reason I say it, is the openness and joy she expresses leaves others inspired to do the same. Talking to people wherever she goes makes the world she has travelled a happier one. More for another blog and another time.

My Theatrical Performance in Swan Lake

Given the interest in recent films on the subject of ballerinas, I thought writing about my experience as one would be enjoyable for many. I know I was in the middle of a series. Going behind the scenes of a production of Swan Lake is another behind the scenes experience that is a part of show business. May celebrities we all like have experience in working in amazing theaters for crowds of fans. Ballerinas are actresses who transform through acting and movement. My first important dance performance came in the production of Swan Lake It was at the Patriot Theater in Trenton New Jersey. I was so impressed when I arrived at the theater since I am a big fan of the beauty in architecture and fine details of carving or moldings as well as the rich red curtains and tapestry blew me away.
It was a performance with my dance school and the teacher was very well known for her talents in choreography, instruction and keen eye for talent. Miss Beverly , I believe, was her name. I recall she was hired to script and teach us the dance for another production I was in called "Oliver". In that production , she was not the only hired talent. The teachers in charge of that show had hired talent for certain roles like Fagan since they wanted the show to be a hit. I was cast as Nancy in the show which as we all know is the female lead. That shows was when I was in middle school and it was very well thought of as I heard for years the video from that production was shown throughout the  district for all ages up to and including the high schools.
I seem to have lost my direction when I was speaking about dancing in Swan Lake. As I mentioned the arrival to the theater and getting ready backstage was a huge high point. The excitement of a production and seeing each class of ballerinas fully dressed in their costumes was intoxicating. I love the thrill knowing the audience is out there waiting for my fellow dancers and myself to begin. For me, dancing on stage is a familiar event. I began dance instruction and recitals since I was a preschool age child of maybe 4. That show involved a simple yellow costume and it was "Itsy Bity Teenie Bikini" .The famous song was so cute for dancing . I recall seeing other students perform that song as my years of dancing wet on.
Toe dancing was something I had always admired and dancing in Swan Lake was a highlight. Since it  is such a beautiful production so well known, I learned the steps with even more pride than usual. Every year getting the costumes was a thrill. They were always so beautiful. My costume in Swan Lake was white with silver weaved on the bodice. It had beautiful layers of folded fabric along the torso. I still have the costume somewhere. When I last saw it, it was in my kids costume box along with my gowns from other events. They don't wear them anymore but they once enjoyed playing dress up.
Swan Lake has such beauty in the choreography. I was so excited when our turn came up. My class lined up backstage and we got ready to enter the stage. I recall making my first movements on stage and the pure pleasure of the movements before the crowd. When a performer enters the stage there is a switch that goes on and the momentum of the dance combines with the portrayal of the character in such a way that time stops and all you are aware of is a freedom of spirit. The transformation from ballerina backstage to performing is done in an instant. I find I lose all other thoughts the moment I take the first step. I don't recall the exact dance steps any longer but I m sure if I tried they would come back. For me I just recall the high of the performance in such a magnificent theater and the blue dark lighting of the stage. I remember the beautiful feathers in our hair, our makeup and almost glowing in the white we wore.
Here are two pictures of inside the Patriot Theater in Trenton, New Jersey. As you can see it was a gorgeous place to dance on stage.

Miss Beverly was famous for her productions so even people who were not in attendance of her Dance School came and bought tickets. This was something special since most of her classes did not get a chance to be involved with the ballet.
Lots of people wonder what it is like to be a ballerina in such an elegant ballet production, I can tell you it is amazing. The right theater does set the tone of elegance as it enhances your performance and the audiences perception. If we had danced in a high school theater , some of the regality of the ballet would have been lost. Miss Beverly was known for her detailed mind and her location was perfect.
At some point in the future I might release the video of a toe dance routine I choreographed to a unique song. I have one already shot and another dance with the steps complete. I keep my toe shoes in my closet with my typical dance sheer wrap skirt.
Its not exactly my dancing hair or make up but it is sure fun to play with Spring colors. My latest selfie :)
